Weird body fact? I fractured my ankle (ask me bout my coordination) and as a result of crutches my left calf is currently significantly larger than my right calf :/

Best way to capture a Lowland Missoura Pineapple? Ok so hear me out this is what you do. Place a bowl of sugar water (you don't even need that much) out on a table--preferably made of cedar--to attract mosquitos. The mosquitos will attract frogs, which will then attract snakes, which will then attract mongooses (mongeese? mongii? mongtopus?), which will then attract the ever-elusive Missouri Lowland Tiger. Because all the animals will be gathered around the bowl of sugar water, you are free to go travel throughout the wilds of Mis'ri to find the sugar water bowl that all the other animals abandoned, where the LMPineapple will have wandered, as it normally avoids the LMTiger due to a thing that happened a couple years ago. Easy pickings!

Advice for incoming freshman: Whatever you do, whoever you meet, embrace who you are! As long as you're true to your own self, you will #thrive (where'd all this cheese come from??????)

What are you passionate about? I’m passionate about recognizing your worth in this world and how we as individuals can grow by interacting and learning from others. But, my main mission is to save all the wild animals from corrupt humans and help navigate positive growth in nature.

What’s your wackiest nature story? One time I was camping with my family and I was exploring around and stuck my head into a large bush to see what was in there. To my surprise a junebug flew straight into my nose and proceeded to buzz around in the depths of my right nostril. I anxiously grabbed a stick and started to stab it in my nose out of fear that the bug would fly up into my brain if I didn’t kill it. After a minute of intense smashing, I didn’t feel the bug moving anymore so I put my finger on my left nostril and blew hard with my right until a large junebug came flying out of my nose. I still feel something moving sometimes in my right nostril and I think the junebug may have laid eggs all those years ago.

Weird body fact? I can move one of my eyes fully around without moving my other eye.

Best way to capture a Lowland Missoura Pineapple? Wait patiently until a large animal grabs the fruit for you, wrestle the animal for the pineapple, defeat the large wild animal with your incredible human strength, use your bloody hands to rip open the pineapple, devour the pineapple.

Advice for incoming freshman: Be yourself and be kind to everyone around you. Kindness can carry you a long way, and as long as you listen and know how to communicate with others in a friendly manner then you will have no problem making friends. With academics, don’t be afraid to talk to people if you’re struggling because they likely are in the same boat. Lastly, be open to new experiences. Challenge yourself, but stay strong to who you are.

Why does the wilderness matter to you? The wilderness is a place of freedom and exploration. You can do anything you want because you are not held down by societal rules. Nature grounds me because it is bigger than myself and it is powerful beyond measure. Nature inspires me by its ability to constantly grow and fight against human touch. We wouldn’t be able to breath if it weren’t for trees and plants, and the way we eat wouldn’t be possible without the biodiversity that we find in nature. Nature will always be here, no matter how much trash humans throw into it. It is the strongest force that I have witness in my life.

You wake up in the year 3000 (and your great-great-great granddaughter is doing fine). What is the first thing you do? I would find a news source and see what was currently happening in the world and who the US president was. I would then step outside to see what the layout of civilization was like and head to the nearest grocery store because I’m always hungry when I wake up. I would be interested to see what foods were popularized and how much they were. I would take my futuristic food and sit in a crowded place to observe people to see how they interact with each other and what changes I see with fashion and pray that crocs aren’t in again.

Favorite smells? My mom’s homemade pizza and apple pie, the woods, vanilla, lavender, and melting chocolate.

Weird body fact? I broke my nose during a third grade basketball game and never did anything to fix it. Some days it’s purple and bruised and you can definitely tell it’s broken. Other days it’s a perfectly normal (and admitedly pretty cute) nose. Can you explain that cuz I cannot.

Best way to capture a Lowland Missoura Pineapple? 1) crouch, 2)pounce, 3)grab =success!

Advice for incoming freshman: Don’t compare yourself to others around you. It’s so easy to convince yourself that everyone else has more friends, does better in class, and is in general happier than you. But your perception is often not true. It may take awhile for everything to fall into place and to achieve a balance that works for you, and that’s OKAY!

Why does the wilderness matter to you? The wilderness is an all-around incredible place. It looks good, smells good, sounds good, tastes good, feels good. I’ve never felt more myself than when I’m outside, away from the stresses of my daily life. When in the wilderness, you can’t help but live in the moment. So, in summary, it’s a pretty dope place.

Boston sports, sugar, fortnite/kart, and hanging with friends are hype too.

What’s your wackiest nature story? I was climbing Mount Kilimanjaro a few summers ago with my family and on like day 3 my dick started stinging real bad every time I took a piss. My sister told me I probably had a UTI and offered me some meds, but what she did NOT tell me was that the meds would turn my pee bright orange. I had a panicked few minutes where I thought I had some super exotic dick disease before she told me the orange coloring was normal. The joke's on her though because after that she got really bad altitude sickness and my dick stopped stinging and I felt fine.

What's your wackiest nature story? The state of nature is a concept used in moral and political philosophy, religion, and international law to describe the real or hypothetical condition of human beings before or without political association. Many social-contract theorists relied on this notion to examine the limits and justification of political authority or even the legitimacy of human society itself!

What are you passionate about? I'm passionate about my family, my friends, and about being happy. I am fascinated by EMS and global health and understanding the best ways that we can help communities at need within their own contexts. I am passionate about my friendships and putting in the work to maintain those friendships.

What's your wackiest nature story? When I lived in Norway, my sister and I were once feeding some grass to these sheep that were roaming outside of my Uncle's cabin. Everything was absolutely splendid. Once it started getting dark we decided to walk back up towards the cabin. However, once we turned our back on the sheep, 3 of them started following us. It was kind've cute at first, but then my sister started to pick up her walking pace, which them made the sheep pick up their walking pace, and it ended up turning into us aggressively sprinting towards the cabin by being chased by 3 sheep. It was actually incredibly traumatizing and has resulted in me no longer feeding sheep grass.

Weird body fact? I have a cyst in my right wrist that pops out when I bend it forward

Best way to capture a Lowland Missoura Pineapple? Before you go to sleep, make a pizza from scratch, throw on some ham, some diced onions, and set that beauty out on the porch. When you wake up in the morning, the lowland missoura pineapple will have hopped right on it.

Advice for incoming freshman: As much as you can, try not to worry if you aren't making a ton of friends immediately. Within the first week of my freshman year, I felt like most people had already found their "groups" and that I was straggling on the side trying to find people. But what I learned over time was that a lot of those initial friendships seemed a lot deeper from an outsiders perspective compared to what they actually were. Take your time. Be patient and be yourself. Its so so so so so worth sticking it out for a bit and finding people that you genuinely, really like rather than pretending to be super good friends with someone that you happened to tag along with the first day.

Why does the wilderness matter to you? The wilderness watched me accept myself for who I am for the first time in my life. It set the scene for my semester abroad at the High Mountain Institute during high school junior year and I am reminded of its power each time I return to the woods. A concept that is deeply embodied by the WP community (and all lovers of the outdoors for the most part) is the idea that "the trees don't judge" - and there really is nothing more accurate than that. The wilderness is the framework that continues to bring me together with people that I love, satisfying everything from my heart to my mind to my eyes that get to take it all in.
